Nick Hunt was recently promoted to Operations Manager here at Katapult. He joined the organization back in 2018 as a Supervisor. From an overall leadership standpoint, Nick engages his team through quality relationship building and accountability.
What is your proudest moment while working at Katapult?
It was getting promoted to Operations Manager! It was a huge accomplishment for me as I felt I was able to break through my own glass ceiling and really make a larger impact on my career. It really was just a huge accomplishment.
What is your favorite part about working at Katapult?
The people, no doubt. Having a team like we do, with a CEO like Oz (Orlando Zayas) and such a diverse environment, it makes Katapult a very unique place to work. You really can’t replace the environment we have here.
What are three (3) words that you could use to describe Katapult?
Fun, Dynamic, Disruptors
What was Katapult like when you started, and how much has it changed since then?
I started when we were Zibby. At that time, two-thirds of the business was Brick and Mortar. The pivot to support eCommerce has changed a lot of the processes, especially on the operations side, and that has been where a lot of the changes have taken place.
Before Katapult, what was your most unusual or interesting job?
I worked at Palermo Pizza in Milwaukee, which made frozen pizzas. My job there was to add the toppings to the pizza before they were wrapped and ready to go.
If you could switch roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
Oz! That is an easy question. I would want to call the shots…and promote myself again before I had switch back to my role.
